Ever since FLUSS was founded, a feminist aspect has always been in the foreground of its activities. This was most clearly expressed in the show fem.art* - photographic obsessions curated by Renate Bertlmann in 1995.
A lot has changed since then. Exhibition practice and publications do take female positions more seriously and it has become a matter of course that women as artists are more present in the international cultural scene than ever before. A differenciated gender discourse also provides a better possibility for each individual to express themselves outside of rigid norms. Nevertheless, in many matters women still are experiencing the glass ceiling every day in practice. The exhibition fem.art 2.0 is dedicated to these "images of experience".
